Boothville-Venice Elementary Head Start Ball 2018

Boothville-Venice Elementary School's Head Start, 3 and 4 year olds, celebrated their annual Mardi Gras Ball on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. Head Start Instructors Sonya Jones and Kathleen Antoine organized the main event to teach the students about Mardi Gras Culture, Ball etiquette, dancing, and Louisiana Culture.  Head Start Director, Patricia Haydel commends the staff, parents, and students for the exciting fun-filled learning experience.  Principal, Maria Prout reigned as High Priestess escorted by Chef Damion Banks who is a Mardi Gras Indian.  Chef Banks and his wife Cheryl own and operate Beauchamps Restaurant.  A host of school board employees Monica Wertz, Desiree Cota, William Autmon, Hollie Williams, Becky Ballay, Bonnie Thomas, Robbye Lewis, special guests Rev. Reginald Burl, Michelle Burl and Lavern Maynor, parents, grandparents and friends filled the gym to see Head Start Queen Ivaney Parker and King Kullen Ancalade reign this Mardi Gras Season.
