BVES 4-H Cooking Contest

On Tuesday, November 14, 2017, Boothville-Venice Elementary School hosted its annual 4-H Cooking Contest.  Thirty-four students prepared dishes in various categories such as egg, poultry, beef, seafood, and sugar.  The dishes were judged by local faculty and staff judges.  All participants received a certificate and ribbon. Ms. Liz Sullivan, the sponsor, was very proud of the students and their participation this year. Winners are as follows:
 
Egg Category
1st Place- Evan Ballay (Bread Pudding)
2nd Place- Diamond Merrick (Deviled Eggs)
3rd Place- Jordan Phan (Deviled Eggs)
 
Poultry Category
1st Place- Andre' Williams ( Chicken Alfredo)
2nd Place- Nicholas Ennis (Boiled Turkey Necks)
 
Beef Category
1st Place- Logan Hawley (Taco Soup)
2nd Place- Emma Hortard (Taco Soup)
3rd Place- Mason McGuire (Gram's Chili)
 
Seafood Category
1st Place - Aaron Reyes (Shrimp Dip)
2nd Place - Maria Salomon (Shrimp Salad)
3rd Place - Draevin Collins (Crawfish Cornbread)
 
Sugar Category
1st Place- Abram Hawley (Apple Pie)
2nd Place- Jayli Simmons (Slap Ya Mama Chocolate Cupcakes)
3rd Place- Cason Meaux (Carrot Cake)
