National Beta Convention 2023

Boothville Venice Elementary School Beta Club Members Place in National Competition

The last few months, National Beta members from Boothville Venice Elementary School have been working hard to prepare their entries for the National Beta Convention in the following competitions: Reimage Recreate Recycle and Club Trading Pin in the Junior Division. Abigayle Turner, Shylen Prout, and McKenzie Devillier placed 7th in Reimage Recreate Recycle competition.

Members originally competed and received awards during their State Convention held in February 2023 in Lafayette. Their victories at the state level provided an opportunity to compete at the national level. The National Convention held June 2023 in Louisville, Kentucky provided all students the opportunity to compete, meet members from other states, as well as trading pins with different clubs. Over 5,000 Elementary Beta (grades 4-5), 8,000 Junior Beta (grades 6-8) and 7,900 Senior Beta (grades 9-12) students were able to represent their schools both this summer.

BVES Beta Club has 22 members. Officers attended the Leadership Summit in September 2022 to inspire tomorrow’s leaders to achieve their personal best through service, character, and achievement.

Members were able to experience these events through fundraising and donations. Thank you to the following: Daybrook Fisheries, Le Nguyen Marine Supply & Food Mart, Treadaway’s Fabrication & Repair, Westbank Fishing, Empire South Pass Tarpon Rodeo, Targa Resources, and the community.

With more than 500,000 active members and 8,750 clubs nationally and internationally, National Beta has become the nation’s largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization. National Beta promotes the ideals of academic achievement, character, service, and leadership among elementary and secondary school students. National Junior Beta includes grades 4-8 and National Senior Beta includes grades 9-12. Visit betaclub.org for more information.
