John Hodkin, a tuba player and cyclist from Northern Scotland, started his InnerTuba Mississippi River 2023 Tour with his first performance at Boothville-Venice Elementary on Tuesday, April 18, 2023.
Mr. Hodkin played the Tuba for the students, as well as, cycled in the gym to show them how he would be traveling the 3,000 miles in 150 days. Following about 3 years of COVID setbacks, InnerTuba has decided to shoot for touring again in the United States.
Mr. Hodkin shared his loves in four words all beginning with “T”, his Tuba, his Tricycle, his Trailer, and his Travels”.
Mr. Hodkin will pedal and perform along the entire length of the Mississippi River.
Mr. Hodkin was accompanied by a good friend Mr. Patrick Farnz of Portland, Oregon. Mr. Farnz is an engineer who made the trailer that Mr. Hodkin carries his equipment in. He was excited to help John in this journey.
