Family Read Night

On Wednesday, February 12, 2020, Boothville-Venice Elementary School hosted its annual Family Read Night.  The purpose of a family Read night is :

* to increase the knowledge level of parents and family members about things they can do at home to help nurture readers.

* Involve more parents and family members in the education of their children and help them feel welcome as learning partners.

* Host a fun, free, multi-generational activity where families and teaching staff can show students that they value reading and learning.

This year's theme was "Snow Better Time To Read". Families had a night filled with activities such as visiting the book fair, dinner, pictures, and activities.  Families then gathered together to snuggle up and read all about SNOW!  After reading and discussing the books in their groups, students and parents were directed to stations to make SNOW! This literacy activity included science to create a grand finale!
