My name is Stacey-Ann Barrett.  I am a fourth grade teacher at Boothville-Venice Elementary. This is my ninth year teaching the same grade, in the same classroom, with the same teaching partner; and I am excited about that. Education is a second career for me. I hail from the corporate world where I worked as a Financial Supervisor for seven years prior to pursuing a career in education.  The calling to teach was placed on my life from an early age, but like others, I managed to avoid it.  Nevertheless, there was a strong pull for me to teach, and in 2007, I was led to a small rural community- Boothville, Louisiana where I accepted my calling.  I have not looked back since. I feel privileged to work work with such a wonderful group of educators, administrators, students, staff, and community members.  I am focused on being the best educator that I can be because my students are my priority. I am constantly reading to make myself as knowledgeable as possible in order to enrich my students because I believe that all students have the right to a free and appropriate public school education.  I have a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Our Lady of Holy Cross College and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Executive Leadership.  I leave you with this quote, “A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.”

In The True BVES Spirit of Success,

Ms. Barrett
